On Saturday, Dec. 1, we once again joined together as a congregation to present a traditional event to the greater Rochester community. Organized by the Zumbro Women of the ELCA (ZWELCA), but supported by volunteers from the entire congregation, our day of honoring our Scandinavian traditions, and celebrating as a faith community is now a happy memory. We continue to reach out to help others in the name of Jesus, with the funds raised from this tradition.
This year’s funds raised will go to help many areas of our community, as well as the world. We have disbursed $16,000 in funds to:
Families and Individuals in Need in Our Community
Family Promise + Women’s Shelter + Open Table + Lutheran Social Services-Ways to Give, Quilts for Kids + Lutheran Social Services-LINK (Living INdependently with Knowledge)
Faith Formation and Outreach
Good Earth Village Scholarships + Zumbro Lutheran Youth Trips + Lutheran Campus Ministry-Mankato and Winona State + Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home
Support of Needs in the World
Mission Sewing + a one time grant for Iambi Lutheran Hospital in Tanzania to support an x-ray technician
Thank you to all of the Zumbro members. volunteers, and guests who have helped make these gifts possible. Together, we can make a difference.
