Communications Assistant

Position Purpose: To provide clerical and publication support for worship, digital communications, and mass mailings.

Reports to: Communications Director

Required Skills

  1. Desire to work in team setting.
  2. Strong organizational and office skills.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Strong writing skills.
  5. Experience in MS Office Suite, including Share Point.
  6. Experience in Adobe Suite

Desired Skills

  1. Graphic design experience or previous work in Canva
  2. Experience in MailChimp
  3. Three years-experience in an office setting
  4. Website and social media content management experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Prepare bulletins for worship, funeral/memorials services, and senior living campus worship services.
  2. Prepare regular e-communications such as death notices and the weekly online devotional.
  3. Facilitate mass mailings such as: quarterly statement letters, newsletters, and other congregational mailings.
  4. Maintain records of pastoral acts (baptisms, weddings, funerals).
  5. Provide clerical support for pastors and program staff, as needed.
  6. Other duties as assigned by Communications Manager.

Status: Half-time, non-exempt
