Mission Trips

Jesus sends us out with a purpose; that purpose at Zumbro is to build bridges of understanding and peace, to reach out with compassion, and to share the hope of Jesus. Most years, Zumbro youth go out in the world to serve others on three summer mission trips. Due to COVID-19, Mission Trips were canceled in 2020. For more information on upcoming mission trips, contact Jen Gruendler.

Past Mission Trips:

2019 Summer Youth Mission Trips

Minneapolis Skyline4th and 5th Grade

July 25-27
Minneapolis, MN
This will be an amazing opportunity for our upper elementary kids to “get their feet wet” with a two-night mission trip experience in the Twin Cities! We will explore many different ways that people are serving those in need in the Mpls/St. Paul area, including Feed My Starving Children, food ministries, and day care centers for homeless kids. We will also do some fun group building stuff as well. Please note because of the age of the kids and the places we will be serving, a 3:1 adult to kid ratio is required. Parents: please check your calendars and plan to serve with your kids. Friends are always welcome!

CrossWoodsMiddle School

July 28-August 2
Northern Wisconsin
CrossWoods’ six-day Adventure Camps are packed full of excitement and life lessons. Youth and their adult leaders are challenged and encouraged to participate in activities that stretch them both physically and spiritually. They will learn to trust themselves, their friends, and their God in new ways that strengthen their faith and build their confidence. Mountain biking, rock climbing and rappelling, backcountry hikes, whitewater canoeing, ropes course events, and a whole host of other activities are part of what makes this week a life-changing experience.

Washington D.C.High School

July 14-21
Washington D.C.
We will partner with the Steinbruck Center, a ministry of Luther Place Memorial Church. Zumbro youth and adult leaders will experience a transformative urban immersion experience that combines education, direct service, experiential learning, critical analysis, and reflection. This will be a social justice journey full of meaningful service and personal reflection. The hope is that participants will become agents of change to address root causes of poverty in their home communities. In other words …. THIS IS GONNA BE AN AWESOME, LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE!
